Maria suffers from a very strange disease. It is similar to cancer, but with a distinct difference: The disease somehow connects Maria to the fate of another woman named Donna Maria. This woman - Donna Maria - lives in the 15th century. Maria begins to leap through time and travels vividly through scenes. He gradually discovers the absolute cruelty of historical life. He learns that Donna Maria was a Hungarian princess who was taken to the Bursa harem as the concubine of the Ottoman Sultan. In one scene, Maria defends her reborn freedom when Donna Maria stands before her like an enemy on the battlefield. He realizes that this bloody war is the only way to be free. This is his life and death battle and a leap of faith. In this way, and by the end of the film, Maria begins to understand that Donna Maria is her ancestor and the struggle itself.
